The Evangelical Hospital was founded by the Central American Mission (CAM International) of Dallas, Texas, and run by Asociacion Hospitalaria Evangelica of Honduras. The hospital provides medical care to thousands of people in the downtown area and throughout Honduras. Traditionally, the medical staff was made of general practitioners, with surgical emphasis. In addition, there are specialists and consultants for different areas, from Tegucigalpa and San Pedro Sula, who offer consultations on a regular basis.
