The Saint-Louis regional hospital center took the opportunity to profoundly transform its socio-sanitary environment. Patient living conditions have been improved. It was in 1822 that the regional hospital of Saint-Louis was built. With a theoretical capacity of 400 beds, of which 222 are installed and operational, this hospital center, one of the largest in the country, underwent several renovations between 1927 and 1993. This hospital, which bears the name of doctor Lieutenant -Colonel Mamadou Diouf, since August 29, 1983.
